Inter Nachi - Sun, 06/09/2013 - 01:46
Your family buys you presents from.
1 Tractor Supply
2 Bass Pro Shop
3. Gander Mountain
4 Home Depot

Now ! Why do I bring this up ?
The whole fam came over today and said they were all going shopping .
Seemed strange cause we all do thing together … Humm !

Now ! I was cutting the lawn …
Didn’t think nothin’ of it . Hell ! Hit the road.
If Not Pop’s will have to ride the Grand’s around in circles ?
Gotta Ride the Tractor !
So ! As time went on I call them a few times .
Where do you think they were ?
I had forgotten all about Fathers Day coming up !
The Answer is …
God ! I hate to say it !
Tractor Supply………Gander Mountain.
I confess .. I’m a red Neck !

Just remember on Father’s Day … That behind every Great Man … There is a Greater Woman.
And I thank God for it all !

Happy Fathers Day .

Heat Recovery System

Inter Nachi - Sat, 06/08/2013 - 20:10
Does anyone have a good graphic and/or PDF to explain how a water heater/air conditioner heat recovery system works? I'm looking for something to imbed in the report to educate the buyer.
Thanks in advance,
Reece

Breaker and wire to air conditioner

Inter Nachi - Sat, 06/08/2013 - 15:09
On an inspection yesterday on a home built in 2004, the label on the air handler indicated that it needed a minimum ampacity of 59 amps. The circuit breaker for the air handler was rated at 45 amps. To make matters worse, the wire connected to the circuit breaker was a 10 gauge wire which,as I understand it, is only rated for 30 amps.

First of all, how was this unit operating without tripping the breaker? Second of all, am I right that the wire is undersized?

Unusual Venting

Inter Nachi - Sat, 06/08/2013 - 03:15
I saw this in an attic the other day and it seemed unusual to me. This home is less than 10 years old and had 2 furnaces. The upstairs furnace is in a closet on the upper level. Any thoughts why these vent lines would not extend above the roofline?

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

Propane supply line clearance

Inter Nachi - Fri, 06/07/2013 - 21:50
I inspected a house which has a wall heater that vents through the exterior wall. The vent is located about 6 inches from where the main propane line enters the home. The guy who filled the propane tank said this was a concern. I can't find any requirements regarding this condition. Any thoughts.

Slate roof question

Inter Nachi - Fri, 06/07/2013 - 21:30
Are these holes from the original fasteners that are missing or are they from an attempt to repair the slate roof by nailing through the slate. I found one nail threw the slate covered with tar. House is 70 years old. Is this about the time that the fasteners give out? Thanks for any info from the slate experts.

New old scam

Inter Nachi - Fri, 06/07/2013 - 20:46
I may be the only one, or one of many who received email addressed "Internachi member" that went on to tell me of a person who died in a plane crash, had my last name, and had assigned no heirs. Just wanted to advise us all of it. This even had a news link of the fatal crash. Too bad these jerks can't be weeded out.

Inter Nachi - Fri, 06/07/2013 - 17:43
Hi Nick,

Can you have Levi do a logo for the Inspectoscope?
I've found it to be really useful and would like to market it on my website etc.

Best,

Tom
